On cPanel, when checking mail, I get: The server you are connected to is using a security certificate that could not be verified. The certificate's CN name does not match the passed value. Do you want to continue using this server?

Arvixe is committed to your safety and security on the web. Therefore,
all of our servers are equipped with signed certificates so you should
never get any certificate errors when connecting to your mail server
with your email client. On a CPanel account, when checking mail through outlook, you may be greeted with - The server you are connected to is using a security certificate that could not be verified. The certificate's CN name does not match the passed value. Do you want to continue using this server? This error is caused because you are connecting to a shared server but using your main domain as the mail server. IE, the server address you used to setup your mail account was mail.yourdomain.com. However, the server recognizes itself by the general server name (name.arvixe.com). So, if you are using SSL to connect to the incoming or outgoing mail server, you will need to use your server name to connect. The server name is located in the initial setup email that you received. If you are not sure what your server name is or what address to be connecting to, contact a support rep. | |

Can you fix the problem w/certificate's CN name problem?
RESPONSE: Unfortunately, since you are on a shared server, if you don't wish to receive the error, please use the server name to access the webmail/cpanel.

Be sure to use the general name and not the alternate mail server name.
e.g. I used mail.violet.arvixe.com and still got the CN mismatch. Changing it to violet.arvixe.com fixed the problem.

Yes, to match the certificate, you would need to use SERVER.arvixe.com.

Back in Fall 2014, I configured gmail to us an encrypted POP connection to check email from my domain. As noted above, I've always used SERVER.arvixe.com to connect.
As of April 15, 2015 the server connection now fails with the message "SSL error: unable to verify the first certificate."
From what I can gather, your certificates renewed on April 15, 2015. i.e. The day my connection started failing.
How can I get things working again?

We had a global issue with our shared servers having this issue but it should be resolved now. Please give it a shot now.

The last couple of days when I try to access my mail from https://giraffe.arvixe.com:2096/ I get the Security Report icon in the address bar (IE 11) and then I get the following message:
This page can’t be displayed
•Make sure the web address https://giraffe.arvixe.com:2096 is correct.
•Look for the page with your search engine.
•Refresh the page in a few minutes.
I have also configured my gmail app (adroid) to connect to my mail (IMAP) using server giraffe.arvixe.com over SSL and very often I get the following message: No Connection
Any thoughts?
