While we do generate a daily backup of your account, WebsitePanel also allows you to generate backups for redundancy.  A hack or hard drive failure could mean hours to months worth of lost work.  This article will cover how to generate and restore backups in WebsitePanel.

To generate a backup:

  1. Login to your WebsitePanel Hosting Space(http://cp.domain.com, http://servername, or http://serverip)
  2. Click on the plan name under Hosting Spaces

  3. Click Backup under the Tools section in the third column
  4. Provide the following information under Backup Hosting Space:
    • Backup File Name: Create a friendly name for the backup or keep the default information(The backup name generated is usually formatted as SpaceBackup-PlanName-Date.wspak by default)
    • Folder: Choose a folder to store the backup that is at least one level above the document root(wwwroot)
