Plesk Panel

Are there any changes in customer name (used for panel login)?

No, though your login URL will be updated to your new Plesk server.

Will FTP primary and sub-accounts be migrated?
Yes.

Will custom DNS records be migrated?
Yes.

Will there be any changes in my hosting plan?
While resource limits will not change, your package name will be updated to reflect Plesk hosting and some features will be updated as outlined in this FAQ.

Will task schedulers and crons be migrated?
No, task schedulers and crons will NOT be migrated due to inherent differences between the WSP and Plesk platforms.

Are there any unsupported third party applications in Plesk that were available in Websitepanel?

Yes, including:

  • jMail
  • Perl
  • Tomcat
  • Python
  • abcPDF
  • Node.js
  • ColdFusion
  • IIS Web Deploy (to be enabled later)
  • Crystal Reports (you will be able to load your own DLLs as we are running a Full Trust environment )

Websites

Will there be any technical impact to my website?

If some websites use script handlers (i.e. a .NET handler not supported by Windows 2019) they will not work correctly on the new server. It’s also possible that any website with a sophisticated configuration or needed code update may be impacted. Please refer to the question “Are there any unsupported third party applications in Plesk that were available in Websitepanel?”

Will Virtual Directories be migrated?
No.

Is there any risk of data loss (emails, website, databases, etc.) in this migration?
We have taken precautions to reduce the risk of data loss and to ensure data integrity between your old and new server. The Arvixe Plesk migration process copies data changed on the source server since the start of the last migration session to the destination server. In other words, any changes made during the migration period will be sure to sync to your new server.

Will there be a change to my PHP version?

No - all PHP versioning will be retained on your destination server.

WIll there be a change to my ASP.NET configuration?

No - all website ASP.NET settings will be retained along with the application pool modes classic and integrated.

Will my IP address(es) change?

We have worked hard on our migration process to retain assigned IP addresses. However, where Websitepanel supports multiple IP addresses under a single account, Plesk does not. For those accounts that have multiple IP addresses, we will retain the IP with the highest number of occurrences or assignments to the account’s domains.
