I can't see my .htaccess file under cPanel's File manager

.htaccess is considered a hidden file in linux.

Before entering your file manager, cPanel pops up a message asking you where you would like to go within  your file structure. At the bottom of the radio buttons, you will see a checkbox asking you if you'd like to view hidden files. Check that box before entering your file manager and you will see the .htaccess file.

Hi, I have many question.

1. I host my web with 100webspace.com, how I can use your shared ssl
2. Wen try to access the cpanel and find the "htaccess" file, it doesn't appear, does my Cpnael have "htaccess" or I have to add it.

Thanks and regards

1) Please contact support so we can give you the URL for shared SSL.
2) It doesn't necessarily come with one. If the application you are using has one then it will be there. If it is an empty account, then there would not be a .htaccess file and you'd have to create one.

A popup doesn't appear for me - it did once and I must have said no - so how to view hidden files now?

I would check with our staff to see if one is there. There is an option from within the file manager to enable it or you could use the legacy file manager.

I suggest if you are having issues using the file manager, getting a good FTP client (such as FileZilla) many of which are free. Most FTP clients show . files by default.

while opening the file manager in cPanel, just mark the option saying "show hidden files"

The file will not appear in the file manager unless you select the option to show hidden files. A good alternative to the file manager is to just use FTP.

It sounds like you may have deleted. the www folder is just a symbolic link, while helpful it is not required. You can simply got to the public_html folder and upload/edit to the same location. the www link simply redirects you to the public_html folder.
