When creating sub-accounts in a DotNetPanel Reseller, the instant alias shows domain.com.server.mysite______.com

Instant alias is useful to allow your customers to view their site using a temporary URL. By default, the instant alias that is setup for your accounts will be:

domain.com.server.mysite____.com

Where domain.com is the domain of your customer and server.mysite____.com is the server hostname. To customize this for your own hosting company, follow the following instructions:

Go to your DNP login -> click on the ResellerClass ASP or ResellerClass ASP Pro Hosting Space -> Click on Instant Alias on the right side -> Alter the drop down menu from "Use Host Setting" to "Override Host Setting" and put your domain in there.

At that point, all new accounts will have the alias:

domain.com.yourdomain.com

Please make sure that your domain's DNS zone under DNP has a record for * pointing at the shared IP assigned to all your customers.

@Arvand, thank you for the above. However what changes are needed in the case that the Override Host Setting yourdomain is on a dedicated IP ?

I have tried adding a second *.yourdomain for the shared IP in addition to the dedicated IP within the DNS zone. So far the instant alias' for the reseller isnt working, yet a created instant alias on the dedicated domain works fine! :(

Alias will usually be formed from the main domain on your account, or using the servers hostname. I would suggest opening a support ticket so we can see exactly what it is you are attempting to do.
