Please note that .US domains require your information to be listed on the domain per http://www.neustar.us/faqs/#3
This is an ICANN requirement, and we have no control over it.
Please let our support know if you have any questions about this.
Thanks!

Ok, so I have read a few articles and am still confused because the answer does not answer the question.
Is domain privacy free? A better (talk to me like I am at 6th grade level) way, after researching is; Is an arvixe registered domain-name, privacy free? Ex: website1.com <-- The domain-name must be registered at arvixe to get free arvixe domain (name) privacy. website2.com <-- this name I bought is registered at godaddy.com and it is HOSTED (you made the space for me to build a website) with arvixe. Is my privacy free at arvixe for my godaddy registered domain-name that I am HOSTING with arvixe? (you made the space for me to build a website). Better (i.e. dumb it down) definitions for domain, host, website and registered might be helpful for some. And, I suspect the second answer is no (or you can buy privacy at godaddy).
I felt "tricked" by the "free" word, and hoodwinked when the full question was not answered. I thought, what other way is this service going to try and rip me off? Just sayin'... LD

To answer the second part of your question Linda, you are right that this is not possible. It is already impossible from a technical level. Domain privacy is more or less a fiduciary service: a company offers to be the public registrar for your domain and broker any communications for you. In order to do that, they need to have access to your domain's registry information, so they can replace your contact information with their own. Only the company you registered your domain with has that kind of access. So it's absolutely impossible for Arvixe to offer domain privacy (free or paid) to any domain that you did not register through Arvixe, because they don't have that kind of control over the domain. Any changer to your domain registrar information can only be effected through the company you registered it with.

I installed the "concealment of personal data" - ON, but when viewing the site https://www.nic.ru/ I read the following items:
According WHOIS.PUBLICINTERESTREGISTRY.NET:
Domain Name: OPTIMATS.ORG
...
and all my hidden data - why??

I see correctly shielded details under the domain, it seems to be setup correctly :
Registrant Name:Whois Agent
Registrant Organization:Whois Privacy Protection Service, Inc.

I have a domain registered with godaddy with domain privacy and a website there.
I want to switch my website and email hosting to Arvixe. Is there any way to continue to have domain privacy, either by leaving my domain with godaddy or by transferring the registration to Arvixe?

Yes, we offer domain privacy with most TLD's. You can leave the domain at godaddy and simply change the DNS underneath it to use our servers as well.

Hi,
When I was registering my domain name with Arvixe, I declined the box "Protect my personal information" ---> 8.99 $ / domain
Cant find the way to purchase it now,
Can you please tell me where to go?
Thanks for your time,

question, what if you just registered, pre-installed wordpress but accidently misspelled your free domain name by 1 letter?

Please contact our support team as soon as possible. We can get the domain unregistered, a new domain registered and the domain changed on your account, as long as you act quickly relating to this.
