When you visit your website, you appear to experience a seemless experience of loading the website into the browser. In reality, there are 3 distinctly different aspects of your website that can all be interchangeable: Read on to better understand the critical roles each of these parts play in delivering your website to your website's visitors. Domain NameThe domain name is the address that your visitors enter in their browser, such as domain.com. This tells the browser which web hosting server to search for your files on in order to load your website. Domain names have to be purchased from a registrar and pointed to your web hosting server in order to serve your content. In the PersonalClass Hosting Plan, we allow 6 websites/domain for every hosting account you own. This limit is specifically for how many domains you may use with your hosting plan, the domain registration is not included. Once pointed to your server, you can create subdomains for your domain, such as forum.domain.com or blog.domain.com. You can create an unlimited number of subdomains for a domain you own that is pointed to our servers. You may update any domain you own to point to any server you choose and are able to control, displaying different websites as you desire. Hosting PlanA Hosting Plan is the subscription for space on a web server, which remains online to deliver your content even when you are not available. It is possible to run a server on your local computer, however it would only be available as long as your computer is online and does not experience network errors. In addition to high availability and uptime, a web Hosting Plan includes storage space to place the files that visitors will see when they load a domain that is pointed to your server. You may change the files hosted on your Hosting Plan in order to display different websites (the files on the server), or you may point different domains to your server to display the website you have stored there on different domains. WebsiteA website is a collection of files and possibly databases that are viewed by users who visit a domain which is pointed to your hosting plan. Depending on how a website is configured and what it's requirements are, a website may be hosted on most any server you choose (Hosting Plan), or be loaded by any domain you point to it. | |

RESPONSE: Each will have a separate site. While the files will be located inside the root of the main domain, from a web server stand point, these are completely separate websites and a visitor of site2.com will not be able to see that it is hosted on a hosting account with site1.com or site3.com .
which means i can regiester unlimited domain like (abc.com , test.com etc) as many as i want absoultly free right?
if i leave you hosting acccount , what about my domains? i have to pay it or it will terminate.
RESPONSE: Unfortunately that's not correct. You can host unlimited domains but not register unlimited domains. Offering unlimited registrations is unfortunately not possible as every company will have to pay for every single domain registration. However, if you do pay for the domains, you can keep them even after you cancel your hosting account.
lorsque j'ajoute un domaine 'affaires-ebook.com' par "domaine compagnon" et que je veux me connecter j'ai un message d'erreur, il y t'il un temps d'attente avant que le site soit fonctionnel
merci
My doubts are:
1) Can I host my brazillian domains: www.site1.com.br and www.site2.com.br? In the same account?
2) What I need to do in my registered domains, only set de dns servers to the arvixe dns servers?
Thanks in advance.
2) Yes as mentioned above.
1) Get in contact with our sales department either via ticket, phone, or live chat. Request to be upgraded to Personal Class Pro
2) You will pay the difference from your personal class plan to the personal class pro plan
3) We upgrade the account to personal class pro with unlimited domains. It literally takes seconds to complete the entire process.
So I can't do this? site1.com, site2.com and site3.com have WordPress, and site4.com, site5.com and site6.com have Joomla?
Q: I hear that you do give 1 free domain?
A: Yes, 1 free domain for each hosting plan for as long as you host with Arvixe. Should you choose to leave, you can pay for the domain and take it from Arvixe.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How much would that cost (to pay Arvixe for my domain back)? Would it matter how many years I've had it for free?
(I assume it's free since I have less than 6 sites/domains/pointers )
And how do I connect the Wordpress file that I've created on my company1.com website to the domain I add in either AddOn or Parked (whichever is the right one?)
Thanks
Could you present structure of them?
Will be it like root -> domain1 forlder, root-> domain2 folder.... -> domain6 folder?
Or it's like domain1 folder -> domain2 folder, domain1 folder -> domain3 folder...?
In other words whether addon domains are just virtual folders?
My goal is to run two nopcommerce shopping carts in subdomains, like this...
shoppingcart1.mydomain.com
shoppingcart2.mydomain.com
I set up a virtual domain on the domain with the path: \mydomain.com\wwwroot
Did I need to do this? Logically it seems that any further virtual directories I create will be like a subdirectory 'within' the main domain structure. Sort of like a virtual domain within a virtual domain.
I created a subdomain shoppingcart1 with the path: \shoppingcart1.mydomain.com\wwwroot
I then created a virtual directory with the same path: \shoppingcart1.mydomain.com\wwwroot
At some point during setting this up my main website name was changed from mydomain.com to to www.mydomain.com (how, I don't know).
This caused my site to be visible at www.mydomain.com, but page not found errors for mydomain.com. A support ticket resolved getting it changed back (thanks Jerry).
I am hesitant to try and create a second subdomain/virtual directory in fear of botching it all up again. Is the order important for success, meaning always create the subdomain before the virtual directory or something?
Thanks, John
Thanks in advance.
www.main.com
www.addon1.com
www.addon2.com
will the directory structure be like this:
public_html/main
public_html/main/addon1
public_html/main/addon2
or will they be completely separated like this:
public_html/main
public_html/addon1
public_html/addon2
www.main.com ( principal)
will the directory structure be like this:
public_html/main
public_html/main/addon1
public_html/main/addon2
i want to change to
www.newmanin.com ( new principal)
---www.main.com ( addon domain as possibly)
and
public_html/newmain
public_html/newmain/main
public_html/newmain/addon1
public_html/newmain/addon2
any tutorial.
Right now:
domain.com = blank webpage on Arvixe
sub.domain.com = Elgg app on Arvixe
I want to point www.domain.com to a SquareSpace account, but I want the subdomain to continue to resolve to the Elgg app hosted here, like this:
domain.com = webpage on SquareSpace
sub.domain.com = Elgg app on Arvixe
What DNS record settings would make that happen?
"Site 1.com" was the first, so it came for free. The point is - I do not need this domain "site 1.com" any more. and I wish to get rid off it, and make my "site2.me" free. How can I do this?
thank you.
I'm just wondering if there is any major differences of have one main domain with a few addon domains in the same root folder, with having each domain separately and not as addon domains. Addon domains are quite convenient as you can deal with them all under one main folder.
I will move 6 sites to Arvixe and just wanted to hear your thoughts on this matter.
Thank you for you kind assistance.
Ken
Right now:
domain1.com = blank webpage on Arvixe (provided free when signing up)
domain2.com = personal Linux box
domain2.com is registered with NameCheap
In CPanel, I used “Addon Domains” for domain2.com & has document root of home/public_html/domain2.com
I have moved all files & sql from personal Linux box to Arvixe, via FTP, to home/public_html/domain2.com and all is fine when I go to URL:
www.domain1.com/domain2.com
However, I do not want to resolve with the domain1.com, but rather just domain2.com.
I modified my NameCheap Host Name records, both @ & www, using A (Address) to the Shared IP Information/address given in initial setup email from Arvixe for domain1.com, but this does not bring up the intended domain2.com (it brings up stats.seaurchin.arvixe.com)
I would like to keep my NameCheap account and host on Arvixe…from my understanding, with the Personal Class I can host up to 6 domains.
What am I missing to accomplish this?
to 100Mb or 500Mb as maximum database size.
Is there a MAXimum size limit for each database at Arvixe ?
What is the max size for a DB ?
I'm would like to buy a "Linux Web Hosting - PersonalClass" solution for
testing Joomla & Wordpress for potential clients. Thanks.
Q-2. Which hosting plan offers me the ability to have unlimited domains/websites?
Q-3. Does each domain have a cost-per-year registration fee?
Q-4. How do I add each domain/website on my account/hosting plan via CPanel, and will they actually be found as site1.com, site2.com, etc. or listed as (mywebsite/site1.com, mywebsite/site2.cometc?
Yes
Q-2. Which hosting plan offers me the ability to have unlimited domains/websites?
any of our PRO level plans
Q-3. Does each domain have a cost-per-year registration fee?
yes, cost depends on the TLD but common domains are $9.95
Q-4. How do I add each domain/website on my account/hosting plan via CPanel, and will they actually be found as site1.com, site2.com, etc. or listed as (mywebsite/site1.com, mywebsite/site2.cometc?
All the domains will be accessible through a central control panel. and be listed as individual domains (site1.com, site2.net, etc ..)
Q2. If i bought the reseller pro package, could i host 300 domains?
I am a bit confused with the domain thing.
1) I am planning to have two separate websites: site1.com and site2.com.
I want to have 5 domains pointed to site2.com, each with different names and different TLD, mainly .com or .ca.
Am I under the alloted 6 domains?
2) If i buy a dedicated IP and the 6scan, will they be attached to both websites or only one of them?
3) Same question as above regarding the Stats tools. Can I get specific satitistics infos separately for each of my sites ?
4) Are the email spam-virus protections effective on all the emails in the account ?
5) Do you offer a site lock security? and if so, will it be attached to one site only or both ?
Thanks for you time and prompt reply
I want to have 5 domains pointed to site2.com, each with different names and different TLD, mainly .com or .ca.
Am I under the alloted 6 domains?
Those would be considered alias's or parked domains all going to one website. You can setup as many parked domains as you would like.
2) If i buy a dedicated IP and the 6scan, will they be attached to both websites or only one of them?
The IP would only be applied to the main domain on the account. 6Scan license are based per domain.
3) Same question as above regarding the Stats tools. Can I get specific satitistics infos separately for each of my sites ?
Each site will have its own statistics
4) Are the email spam-virus protections effective on all the emails in the account ?
All inbound emails are checked for viruses
5) Do you offer a site lock security? and if so, will it be attached to one site only or both ?
We do not have a partnership with site lock.
1) I'm a little confused about the way the domains work. Let's say I want to have three sites each with its own domain. E.g., I would have site1.com, site2.com and site3.com. I understand that the domain for site1 would be free, domains 2 and 3 would have to be purchased. I've seen some responses to questions that imply that domains 2 and 3 can be purchased from you and registered by you and other responses that domains 2 and 3 would have to be purchased elsewhere and only hosted by you. Can you clear this up for me?
2) Autoresponders: I get the impression that your autoresponders only send a response to a received email. It's a typical practice in Internet Marketing to have lists of customers interested in different things and to set up your autoresponder to automatically send emails(for a newsletter, say) to a list at predetermined intervals. Autorepsonders such as TrafficWave, Aweber, etc. provide this functionality but it appears from what I've read that your autoresponders do not or cannot do this so one would have to have an account with an autoresponder company to get this functionality. Am I correct on this?
Thanks.
https://www.arvixe.com/domains.php
2) At this time, our built in auto responder software does not give this time of feature, but you are free to install any sort of auto responder software that you would like to use.
public_html/Domain2/file.html
Which means I can access file.html using the path Domain1.com/domain2/file.html
I thought hosting another domain would be separate and no one could tell I'm hosting it on Domain1. But this means if anyone knows the path, they can access it within Domain1.
To achieve the "separation" you are going for, you would need a separate account. Add-on domains give you the ability to host multiple domains under a single account. It may be possible to come up with a deny from PATH rule for the addon domains an place it in your root .htaccess
